Haven’t had the time to blog.

Merry Christmas! It’s been yet another year.

I have begun to notice that once I get off work, my mind starts to run on auto-pilot. So much so that I can completely miss appointments or make triple bookings for myself unintentionally. Hence my dear friends if I happen to do that please forgive me. I wonder if it’s true. When uber-mega events happen to you, a part of you dies away.

Recently one of my closer colleague has gone mad and incredibly ridiculous to work with. I can’t decide which is worse – if she’s so cute that everyone tends to have a skewed mindset whereby I am the bully or that our work overlaps so much she’s the one person I have to call my work buddy. Work wise, I have no qualms about communicating with her but I do have a huge issue about her not answering the questions I raise! I mean goddamn it, be professional!

I have gotten used to not talking much at work since the buddy has her back turned on me and occasionally, though not too often as I don’t want to be looked upon as childish or petty, I’ll lunch-in to avoid situations where we have to stand beside each other on the way to lunch.

Work is tough enough as it is, why make another person’s life more difficult? Especially someone who helped you along the way?

Any old how, I loved some of the presents I got from lovely peeps who have bothered to pick out things for me. I have always thought I had weird taste in things.

Can’t wait to see han again. Somehow, she’s the only memory I have of Ann Siang and is one of the few I cannot bear to let go.

It's that time of the year again!

Fishy

Christmas is round the corner! Sadly I haven't been to marina square to enjoy the festive lights yet. Can't wait to catch up with friends again.

It's quite hard to believe that the year is ending already. With the departure of Gracie, it has marked my one year with this team as well. It feels much longer than a year though, I've learnt a shit load of things and I still am everyday. With a team like this, it's hard to simply throw in the white towel and call it quits.

Hopefully they feel the same way too!

As what boy always say- samw shit, different day.

I made a huge discovery today.

I hope to remember this one day when I am much older so that he can sow what he reap and we can savour every moment of it.

Until then, I hold my peace.

++

A few weeks ago, work overwhelmed me to a capacity I could no longer handle with grace. I was short tempered, frustrated and therefore an arse to be around with.

I went into one of the lowest points in my job (I don’t think career is a right word for this yet) and with the shit that was evolving at home, I was on the verge of tears at every rough turn.

Little did I expect encouragement to come from a friend I am not exactly close to. He came to me with sincere words of support and an insight that I happen to overlook. I really must thank him or I would have most probably thrown in the white towel by now.

It’s going to be my birthday soon and I cant wait for it to be Christmas again!

It seems not too long ago (almost exactly one year) when I come to know about his situation. Don’t go for it I said, in total consideration for the 2nd party.

Now, his persistence seemed to have blossomed into something fruitful. Perhaps he’s no longer the bitter man I know?

Congrats Cath on your engagement! I think I hear wedding bells ringing in the not too distant future. Wonderful to know you have found your significant other half. I’m excited and I’m pretty sure the rest of the people we know are too!

My journey thru the south china sea was simply lovely. I saw jelly fishes on the way, woke up to the sun rising from the sea and have enjoyed the short three days to the fullest.

When oh when will I get to do this again?

recently a woman at work told me that she feels so burned out by the long hours.

i felt a sudden urge to say 'I told you so'. With 6 hours of sleep everyday, you are bound to feel tired eventually. Come to think of it, we are only in our twenties. Gosh what will we become when we are 40!

I finally finished my clinique all about eyes! Have decided to try Benefit's Eyecon. Have not used it enough to tell results yet but we shall see!

I’ve roughly decided what I want for my birthday! Being the anal person I am, I have even zoom down to which cake I want.

I’ve been hunting down and meeting up with a few different bunches of people I haven’t been seeing for like eons. It was good meeting up.

K is still as hilarious.
Z seems to be on monies alert all the time
J is still as fashionable as ever
C is still as lovely. Poor SY and Ad though.
I’m ever so sorry I forgot your birthday han! I promise to get you something decent the next time we meet  SD, if things go as planned next week during ur matchmaking… you owe me!

I’ve been hooked on the sookie stackhouse novels (True Blood if you watch HBO). Can’t wait to get my hands on the tv series.

work seemed to have taken over my life. I wonder at least once a day if people who are not in my department actually work AS HARD AS US?

And to that woman who couldn't stop screaming at me over the phone for her so-called 'unfair' case (and not to mention her absurd thinking), just rot and die. These people are simply stupid and a complete waste of earth's resources to maintain. This bring me back to the point where she should just cuddle up and die since we are tying to cut resources.

I have given up wearing a watch to keep up with time because it just seems to add up the stress level at work.

On a brighter note ~

I have fallen in Love with Donna Hay's books. You should try to give it a read. One of the better ones after James Frey.

I love arcade game when it involves gun and tokens that cost only fifty cents each.

There's a pastry cum sandwich shop at the basement 1 of junction 8 that sells uber tasty sandwich at non cut throat prices! check them out http://www.sweetsecrets.com.sg/

I love ice creams especially when they come in cones. There's just this difference from licking and eating from a spoon! current to-die-for: Butterscotch

HARVEST MOON!!!!

This game is SOOO FUN! I played it twice before on PS2 and now it's available on my... NINTENDO! Super duper awesome!

My work's been crap and I am beginning to wonder if my threshold of working in any 1 place is always 1.5 years? I had been in Adecco and URS for almost the same amount of time. But I really must add that I have been working my arse off at work without any appreciation. I know in order to reap the rewards (if there is any at the end of the day) I will have to stay on for at least 2 more years. Problem is (1) is it worth it? (2) do I really want to continue in HR like this forever? It's is after all not a revenue generating unit (3) will I still be SANE?

Recession aside, their lack of foresight and hilariously stupid decisions adds up to make my work a living HELL. Which means almost 40% of what I do is to compliment another worker's laziness/stupidity/lack of communication. At the end of the day, I just find myself asking, why should I fucking care when I am just a lowly paid employee?!?

Bastards.

What are friends for?

There has been many episodes involving the-friends-and-I and the bond that hangs thinly between us. I guess this recent one is just simply out-of-this-world.

I can recall numerous occasions where disappointment was involved. Unhappiness and pure disbelief that someone whom u call upon as a friend can actually do those things to you.

Thankfully, I guess I have reached the stage whereby I can tell her straight in the face to fuck off but not wanting to be rude, I shall just keep that comment in my head for now.

The girls-and-I are finally decided on Bintan despite protests from the ice-cream friend that it’s too commercialized. Bangkok is unsafe, Malaysia is been-there-done-that, Taiwan Japan Korea is way above her budget, hong kong is plain (according to her anyway) and Phillippines? She said WHAT?!?!?!

Bintan it is then, 1 hour’s ferry ride is a bliss and I do LOVE the beach despite the fact that I can’t bloody swim.

I can recall almost exactly, this familiar sense of boredom.

It feels like… sitting at that desk in the beautiful office along Ann Siang Road. Only now, it is no longer the office we owned. Oh and it’s not even a ‘we’, it should be them since I have already left the company nearly a year ago. But somehow it just doesn’t seem like that long ago where I would stroll down the beautiful (but horribly expensive) shop selling things you may probably not find anywhere else in Singapore. Perhaps if we haven’t lost the office, I wouldn’t have left (this would probably equate to a few more stress lines).

They say in every dark cloud, there’s a silver lining. In this, I can proudly say I have learnt a huge bundle of things I wouldn’t have if I had never left. I have added onto my resume, the name of a big company and hopefully can continue to work my way up, thru the insane working practices here.

I’ve recently made this interesting discovery over at bugis street where they pedder interesting vintage clothes. For typical non-adventurous people like myself, I find clothes at Haji Lane too fancy and outrages for my liking but here, the pieces are wearable but exquisite at the same time. Now all we need is a coffee bean and things would be purrfect!

Diamonds are forever... but chocolates we can share!

What are you doing on valentines day?

On the other side of the fence where a heart has cracked.

It is hard to imagine what went thru her mind when she knew (presuming it had gone the way I think it has since she doesn’t want to talk about it at all).

I wonder too, if knowing makes it easier, though no less excruciating, for her to carry on.

Perhaps for her, it was a little more of anger than confusion?

When I look at her, I can see the strong self harbouring whatever pain she may be carrying. I guess for her time has stood still, torturing her in every possible way. Yet there is nothing we can do as bystanders, not even understanding exactly what had happened.

When the red packet no longer contained moolahs but vouchers.

Things suck. I often find myself wonder if URS is worse (and the answer is always yes).
How would you feel if your manager gave out ang baos to your colleagues but not to you? The work piles up only on MY DESK and they are now attempting to use a stop watch to time me and the fucked up processes so that they may have a valid excuse to possibly retrench me! A bunch of mentally screwed up people!

Outlast. I want to outlast you people and make sure the tables turn. I am not giving up... yet!
